Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014

The primroses on my windowsill are blooming again-just as I was ready to transplant them to the garden. Fortunately, I didn't do that this week or they would have been out there in the ice and snow and not warm and cozy on the windowsill.

But today we have seasonal temperatures in the low 60s and blue skies and sunshine.  The tete a tete Daffodils are blooming.  They made it through the snow and ice to greet Easter morning with their tiny yellow trumpets following the sun through the day.

I planted two herb boxes earlier this week, one for Lily's 1st toddler Easter and one for Samantha's 2nd birthday. Their mommies and daddies will benefit too.  Unfortunately, both boxes spent the night outside and were covered with ice and snow in the morning.  Just a little discoloration on the leaf edges, thank goodness!

The Easter herb box had colorful plastic eggs and wooden bunny and egg-shaped herb markers.
This birthday one will get some glam this week before presentation on Saturday.

Spearmint with curled and discolored leaf edges

Dill with browned leaf tips, but lots of new growth also.
I also got the border in the back around the patio cleaned out last weekend, but more on that tomorrow!
